You know what they say about eye contact, It's true, I couldn't tell what's exactly in her mind, but that spark in her eyes bestowed light onto a dark and forgotten place in my brain, in one second I saw a whole neglected part of my past, left me confused and angry, it was reflected as a grim on my face, hers too...



Born in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Author and poet known by the pen name Hamza Matar, author of the published book “Shaded dreams and hazy days: the frayed journeys of a psychotic mind”, Hamza is of Palestinian and Egyptian origins, growing up, Hamza immersed himself in classical literature both Arabic and world literature, the Bible and Quran, his passion for the written word grew strong, fortunately, at the age eighteen, Hamza moved to Cairo Egypt, to begin his college studies, in this large community, this big city with its great history, Hamza found inspiration wherever he looks, mixed up with the people and mastered the local dialect, merged himself into the folk music and tales of the old city, that he loved and it loved him back, an unfortunate circumstances and the loss of the love of his life to death, he battled through drug addiction and a later was diagnosed with Psychosis, the stress was massive, a real time horror Hamza found a cure or may be a distract in writing, started in micro poetry, for seven years he published in many websites until he had enough material to make a complete book about his humble experience in life and his strife with psychosis, and with the side effects of the medicine, he found the hallucination he have had, both visual and auditor, inspiring, so you may feel it in his writings, the confusion, the struggle between reality and fantasy, and later Hamza published his first poetry compilation, his love to poetry and prose continues until today, with hopes to publishing more books, and few writing in progress projects still beneath the surface. He’s also the admin of two facebook pages, one goes by the same title of the book, and the other is named poets of the Nile, he continues to write inspired and inspiring. Lately published his second book: " Actualizing devotion". The struggle continues.
