Doug rose Thursday morning and took the elevator downstairs for breakfast. His Aunt Mona and Lisa were eating the continental breakfast. He started to walk back to the elevator but his aunt spotted him.
“Good morning Doug. I hoped you would get up early enough to have breakfast. Come sit with us.” Doug walked over to the table and took a seat. Lisa had completed her breakfast and greeted Doug as well.
Doug gave a smooth response, “Dinner was exceptional and so was the company.” Mona smiled at Lisa who was rolling her eyes in embarrassment.
“Yes ma’am, dinner was lovely,” she then quickly changed the subject. “Mona, did you sleep well last night?” Mona grinned and looked at Lisa.
“Yes, I did. Did you find your accommodations comfortable as well?” Lisa did not know how to take that response. Doug picked up on it and interjected.
“It was an early evening for us, and I did not keep her out late. I knew she had to get up early for the audit assignment.” Doug excused himself to get breakfast. Doug easily knew what to say, Lisa thought to herself. It must be years of practice.
“I didn’t mean to pry, but I want my nephew to settle down with the right woman who is his soul mate. I could be looking at her right now.” Lisa laughed nervously.
“I don’t know what you see, but I am completely blind to it.” Doug returned to have breakfast with them. Mona rose to leave.
