Emily and the Enchanted Wood

By Lynne North

Fantasy | Paperback, eBook

Emily lives in the quiet village of Oak Haven with her Mum, Dad and her lovely dog, Toby. Her life is a happy and peaceful one, but there is more to Emily than meets the eye. The young girl has a very strong connection with animals, one that becomes even more apparent when she enters the wood that lies just outside the village. Strange things happen in the wood, and Emily isn’t convinced whether the wood has magical powers, or even if she herself has special abilities. Whatever the reason, life is never quite the same when she is there. Emily’s problems really begin when she discovers that goblins have come to her precious wood. They are making the woodland creatures’ lives a misery, and seem intent on staying. Not if Emily can help it ...

I had two children’s novels ‘Gertie Gets it Right (eventually)’ and ‘Zac’s Destiny’ published by ‘YouWriteOn’, the writers’ site sponsored by the British Arts Council, in 2008. The covers provided were pretty awful, so I carried on seeking a good publisher. ‘Caution: Witch in Progress’, a rewrite of ‘Gertie’, was published by Ghostly Publishing in 2013 and launched at Earl’s Court Book Fair in London. Though my publisher ceased to publish in 2014, I have kept ‘Caution’ out on Kindle on Amazon worldwide. I also had two other books due to be published by Ghostly before Christmas 2014. One of them was a rewrite of ‘Zac’s Destiny’ which I have now also released on Kindle under my own publishing name of ‘Crystal Pen Publishing’. I recently released something completely different on Kindle too, a compilation of thirteen macabre Twist in the Tale short stories, definitely NOT for children! I was recently lucky enough to discover Crimson Cloak Publishing and to be taken on as one of their new authors. Emily and the Enchanted Wood was released in November 2015, and new books will be coming out in 2016!
