Mister Blue Sky

By James Dargan

Comedy & satire, General fiction, Sports | eBook

Football's only a game. Real life isn't. Birmingham, England, 1985, and Thatcher rules supreme. Darren Acheson is a normal lad with everything and the world going against him: he's on the dole, his girlfriend's got cancer and his beloved football club is near the bottom of the First Division table. We meet him and his friends as they get by as best they can with football, fighting, music and drinking all to the beat of 80's music and the Casual culture. Will Darren and his team triumph, or will they both face the dark cloud of relegation? 'Mister Blue Sky' is a story of love, violence, identity, passion, and standing up for what you believe in.

James Dargan was born in Birmingham, England, in 1974. Coming from an Irish background, he frequently writes about that experience. As well as England, he has also lived in the United States, Ireland, and - for the best part of fifteen years - in Warsaw, Poland, his home from home from home.
