Dan S. Terrell is a retired career Foreign Service Officer. He served with the Agency for International Development, Department of State, spending lengthy tours in Aghanistan and Indonesia, as well as temporary assignments in Africa, Asia and South America. He met and married his wife in Afghanistan where her father served in the German Embassy. They visit Germany often and since the fall of the DDR have taken a particular liking to the former east, especially Leipzig, Dresden, and the towns associated with J. S. Bach in Thüringen. They live in Northern Virginia, near their son and his family. Mr. Terrell is writing a trio of novellas with illustrations for children and adults set in the Erzgebirge, the Ore Mountains, of southeast Germany. The first Albrecht, the Little Kobold has been published in Germany in German and will be published in English shortly. The others, The Green Witch and Mitzy & Blitzy are written and are now being illustrated.
