Born in Toronto, Canada, a few minutes after my twin, I now live in the Niagara Region. Favourite genres - non-fiction, biography/memoirs, cozy mysteries. The Making of a Funeral Director, a non-fiction work was followed by The Spencer Funeral Home Niagara Cozy Mystery series. I recommend you start with Book 1, Casket Cache, as the plot is continued through Book 2 and beyond.

I just uploaded my book GATEWAY FROM PARIS is the English edition of ESCAPE DE PARIS, customer reviews five star; http://www.amazon.com/ESCAPE-PARIS-Spanish-Maria-Price-ebook/dp/B01AX6IJWG?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0
A fascinating story about a Jewish family, and especially the children, in pre-World War 2 Paris. Excellent storytelling. The saga of the family holds your interest thru the end. It leaves you wanting to know more about the characters and their lives. A gem. Hi Janice, Thank you so much for the follow, liking the cover and recommending A BAD PLACE TO BE for the long commute. A note about the cover. I rejected the first two covers that the publisher came up with. The final cover is my design and reflects (I think) the foreboding aura that surrounds Bear Creek. I greatly appreciate your interest. Have a good evening.
Janice J. Richardson
All the best to you too John!

Hello again Janice,
I've noticed that there is no way to reply to a reply, it's a suggestion I would have, so I'm replying with a new comment. First of all, thanks so much for downloading one of our books! Let us know what you think!
In my opinion, research and conversations are a great mix for a HISTORICAL cozy mystery. I agree with you that it's hard to imagine a crime. It's just not part of our daily lives. I like to start with an emotion like jealousy or envy or something like that and take it to the extreme in my imagination. Sadly, the news is also often a good source of inspiration. Yeah, I think the plot is the hardest thing to come up with but once you do, you get to do all the fun stuff of filling out setting and characters.
Let me know if you get back into writing, especially a cozy. If you have any questions, want to chat, maybe I can be of some help.

Hi Janice,
I recognize you from Twitter. Thanks for finding me on iAuthor too (or maybe it was the other way round) and adding A KILLER NECKLACE to Books for the long commute—subway, train, bus. I'm starting to get a true feel for iAuthor and am liking it very much. Kindred souls and all that. Curious about "retired author" in your profile. I'm thinking you might be retired from many other careers but are still actively writing. Am I right?
Janice J. Richardson
I wrote my book years ago and published 6 months ago via self-publishing. I am retired, haven't been writing and am tossing around the idea of writing a cozy mystery series but lack the imagination. My strength is research and conversations lol. I agree - kindred spirits we are. I prefer iAuthor to goodreads or authordb, this site is fun and interactive. Thanks for following, I look forward to reading your book - downloaded it yesterday. :)
