Shennan Amann

Well, as you probably have already seen, my name is Shennan Amann. I was born in Tyler, Texas, and within a couple of years, moved to the Upstate area of South Carolina. I was adopted by my Great Aunt and Uncle when I was just four years old. I had a pretty decent childhood growing up, but found it hard to make a lot of new friends. Never really the outgoing type of person, if you know what I mean. I played sports and stayed active. Hiking soon became something I felt like kept me in sync with myself. It was definitely something primal inside of me that just made being out in nature seem like there was no other place that I'd rather be. I made pretty good grades throughout school. A few of my teachers used to even tell me that I should be a story-teller because of my imagination. Little did they know, I would draw my own stick figure comics and write the stories to go with them when no one was watching. I just never had the courage to show them to anyone. So, I'd usually wad them up and throw them in the trash a short time afterwards. As I grew older, I found myself with more stories in my head than I could keep up with. I would typically wind up focusing in on one and playing it out like a movie in my head that only I could see. I would even hear the character's voices speaking each of their lines. Thankfully, I never said any of their lines aloud and in public, or anyone close by might would have thought that I was a little off of my rocker. Fortunately, I kept the ones that I enjoyed the most so I could relive them whenever I wanted to. I worked different types of job from fast food to manufacturing mills. I eventually decided to follow my other career of choice. I went back to school and received several certifications in computer repair and networking. Working in the IT field was my go to job that I really enjoyed and felt like as far as career choices were concerned... it made far more sense than becoming an author, but I still held on to that secret desire. Unfortunately, no matter what I did... I still had the deep down desire to fulfill my dream of being and author. So instead of giving up on it all together, I kept telling myself that who knows what tomorrow may hold. Finally one day, I got tired of keeping one particular story in my head (Second Chances), and began typing it up on my laptop. I would write as much as I could whenever I had the chance between work and other activities, but still never mentioning the fact to anyone that was something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. About the same time, I started writing another story for a friend of mine. To my surprise, he absolutely loved it and it was really the first time I had let anyone read anything of mine. Now days when I'm not either working or writing, I spend my time either reading or somewhere in the mountains trying to get lost in the perfect beauty of Mother Nature and all of her glory. With continuing to live in the Upstate area of South Carolina, there are plenty of mountains close by for when I can't make it to Tennessee. That began my push to try to fulfill my dream of becoming an author and couldn't be happier. Thanks to all of you that take the time out of your day to read this, or any of my work. If not for fans, I wouldn't be able to do what I do. So, all I can say now is... Hang on, World! This is going to be a wild ride! Sincerely, Shennan
