The Black Pathway

By Mark C Sutton

Horror | eBook

In Howard Trenton's case, he may well be the first truly 'inhuman' serial killer to have ever walked the Earth... The Black Pathway Trail is a thirty mile walk that starts in the dying coastal town of Coldsleet, and which crosses moorland, cuts through forest, and scales two mountain peaks. A hike along the Black Pathway can be highly dangerous at the best of times, but when a young, sadistic serial killer begins to prowl the trail, then that walk becomes absolutely deadly... 'The Black Pathway Trail' introduces Howard Trenton, a disturbed and unhinged serial killer, who believes himself to be an alien/ human hybrid, born from a strange and mysterious attack on his mother that occurred almost twenty years earlier. When a bright and vibrant young woman called Mary comes to share Howard's home, he is instantly attracted to her... but hell is unleashed when she spurns his advances, leading to a dramatic and terrifying hunt, high up on the 'The Black Pathway Trail'...

Mark C Sutton is an author from the West Midlands in the UK, whose work usually tends to focus on the darker side of human nature, with a humorous slant. Mark is the author of the 'Grandad Miller, Serial Killer' series of books, which chronicle the tale of an elderly pensioner, Brian Miller, a former triple-killer whose murderous inner-self is reborn following a domestic dispute over a prize-marrow competition with a gardening rival down at the local allotments. This series of books has now been condensed and re-written into two full-length novels; 'Grandad Miller, Serial Killer', and 'The Return of Grandad Miller, Serial Killer'. The third and final release - 'The Curse of Grandad Miller, Serial Killer' - is scheduled for publication in the summer of 2015. Mark's first published work was 'Jeremy and the Summer of Stalking', which detailed the life of the infamous, self-proclaimed 'finest pervert in the UK', Jeremy Felliwell. 2014 saw the release of both 'The Pervert at the Beach', a short prequel to 'The Summer of Stalking', and the delicious 'Jeremy and the Winter of the World-Wide Stalker', which is a twisted sequel to the original Jeremy novel, and another full-length instalment in what will, eventually, be a four-part series. 2015 saw more short books centred around Jeremy Felliwell; 'Jeremy's Swollen Balls' and 'Jeremy's Sunset Showdown'. In addition, Mark released his first horror novel titled 'The Black Pathway', the story of a sinister and homicidal youth called Howard Trenton who is convinced he is of extraterrestrial origin. A sequel to 'The Black Pathway' is planned for the autumn of 2015. Mark is also the creator of Stephen Morris Hartley (AKA 'The Slayer of Scarr Mountain'), the most boring and nerdy serial killer in modern history, in the 'Dead Winter Mountain Murders' trilogy of books. 'Gilbert and Sulliman and the Curse of the Red Spider' is another foray into dark, farcical humour, with sublimely ridiculous plots and two hapless, and hopeless, lead characters. Mark's earliest work, 'The Round Guide to Morality', written by the fictitious, extreme right-wing monster, Horace Round, in 2000/ 2001, is also now available on Amazon. Mark has also published several books under the pseudonym 'Anne Thickett', whose use of both malapropisms and unfortunate grammatical errors has steadily become the stuff of legend, to a horrified readership. Mark's current, ongoing projects include the 'Bingo and Bullets' series, which centre around a gang of psychopathic, Mafiosa-style elderly women, wreaking havoc across a small seaside town, and 'Cuthbert Flopper, Psycho Copper', which probably doesn't require explanation. In addition to writing, Mark is also a member of the electronic band 'Zeelund', whose work can be found on both Soundcloud and Reverb-Nation. Mark currently resides in the West Midlands, together with his wife, two sons, and a couple of very annoying, and ultimately soul-destroying, cats.
