Weekend in Amsterdam

By Roy A Higgins

Action & adventure, Thriller | Paperback, eBook

In the late 1960s, colour television was the new technology in Britain. Transistors had started to miniaturise electronic equipment, and a race was on between manufacturers to retail the first home video recorder. Ray Evans is a young man working for a multinational electronics company developing some of these new technologies. When he is sent to Amsterdam on a business trip, he encounters a Russian GRU, or Soviet military intelligence agent. One of the functions of the GRU was to procure scientific, industrial, and technological secrets from other countries. Vladimir, the Soviet agent, attempts to recruit Ray into a web of industrial espionage, and when he refuses to cooperate, bad things begin to happen.

Roy A Higgins is a retired electrical engineer and educator. He lives in rural Lancashire, England. Higgins changed from writing vocational publications to novels. Weekend in Amsterdam is a novel born out of his life experiences while visiting Amsterdam on business. The murders are a work of fiction.
